Do bunk beds need to be against a wall?

There are instances where bunk beds would be best suited to go up against a wall, like to save space. For safety reasons bunk beds might be best suited to placed up against a wall. There isn't any direct reason for bunk beds to be placed up against a wall though.

For bunks that are designed on 3 levels we would always recommend placing these against a wall for safety reasons this would be best practice. Note this is another reason to check the guard rail on your bunk bed is at safety standard height on some designs this is only present on the front of the bunk bed.

What is the weight limit on the top bunk?

The weight limit for bunk beds differ depending on the design. We would suggest contacting the firm you buy from to get a clear weight capacity measure before buying.

Children can use either the top or bottom bunk but adults are recommended to only use the bottom. It's important to take in to account the weight of the mattress as well as a thick pocket spring mattress could be quite heavy and this would effect the weight by a lot.
