This wouldn't be recommended for best practice if adults want to use a bunk bed choose the bottom bunk with a quality double mattress for a comfortable sleeping surface. This would be the safest option this is due to the weight. Bunk beds are really designed for children but adults would stay on the lower bunk this is quite common.
