Burgers are a way of treating our selves and we can do that the right way with some imagination. The key here is keeping it simple and adding things in moderation. That's what a healthy balanced diet is all about, as you can't be go healthy all day every day that won't work.
The Veggie Burger Healthy Style
We use Quinoa for the burger being high in protein, gluten free and contains sufficient amounts of all 9 essential amino acids. Quinoa is stacked with all types of healthy benefits so it's a good choice for a Burger.
1 x Cup Of Water
1 x half a cup of Quinoa
1 x Table Spoon of canola oil
1 x Egg
1 x onion
1 x mushroom
1 x Lettuce
1 x Minced Garlic
Get your saucepan and add the water and quinoa bring to the boil and then simmer and cover. Cook for 15 minutes and then let it stand
preheat the oven to 350F grease your baking trays lightly
Heat the oil in a sauce pan add the onion stir frequently then add the mushrooms and garlic and the quinoa. Cook this until the mushrooms are tender. For about 5 minuets.
Beat the egg add the quinoa and mushroom sauce. Then spoon the mix into half cup portions on to the baking tray.
Bake the until there done about 30 minuets
Add to the buns and then the lettuce and your ready to enjoy.
